Honoring T.K.V. Desikachar

  • Brussels and Liege Belgium

In August 2016 TKV Desikachar, one of the most illustrious yogis of our age transitioned from this world. This humble master, affectionately known to his students as Sir, who first entered the yoga scene at the beginning of the 1960s, is one of the greatest contributors to contemporary yoga. He has touched the hearts of millions of practitioners around the planet through his simplicity and clarity.Totally devoted to spreading the teachings of his father, T Krishnamacharya, he has travelled the world and demonstrated through his own example that care is a indispensable aspect in developing harmony in body, mind and spirit through yoga practice.
To honour Sir TKV Desikachar and make his legacy available for future students, the KHYF is planning to create a permanent archive of his work, and that of his father’s work, both in India and also internationally. To support this cause and to celebrate his teachings, many fundraising events are planned around the world.
Two events are planned in Belgium, one in Brussels and one in Liege, to celebrate his work, and help raise funds for creation of this archive. Senior teachers of Sir will be offering their support of this event by sharing some of his teachings and experiences they shared with him. These special events are organized by Dr. Kausthub Desikachar and Philip Rigo.
We heartfully invite you to come and join this very special event to honour a great master.
